ATTEMPTED BURGLARY RUGBY RD

 

Burglary, Rugby Road, Binley Woods

Incident number: 113 of 20 February

Date: 19/02/2017 – 20/02/2017

 

Please be aware that during the night of 19 into 20 February, offenders entered the insecure front porch of a home in Rugby Road, Binley Woods and then attempted to break into the house through the front door.

The offenders caused damage to the door but failed to get into the house and nothing was stolen.

  1. Interesting that it was called an attempted burglary. I hope it was crimed as a burglary. Once the offender enters a building or any part thereof as a trespasser, with the intention to steal, inflict graciously bodily harm or damage, the offence is complete. Once in the porch, it’s a burglary. According to part 9(1)(a) of the 1968 Theft Act.
