We have today installed an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on the front external wall of the village hall and are now in the process of registering the unit with the emergency services.

Access to the unit is keypad controlled, the code for which will be given by the telephone operator upon dialling 999.

Although it is a facility we hope never to use, the unit itself has been designed for simplicity of operation and verbal instructions will voiced from the machine when in use.

The Community First Responders team have offered to hold a series of demonstration/training sessions into use of the AED, each session lasting up to two hours. It is proposed that these sessions will be held in the village hall at the weekend, sometime in March/April.

In order to get an idea of how many sessions we need to plan for, will anyone interested in attending please email or contact any of your parish councillors.
